Flint Funeral Home

Welcome!
As the only funeral home in Addison, Flint Funeral Home takes its responsibility to the community seriously. Since 1942, the stately Victorian home at 10 Wall Street has served the funeral service needs of the Addison community. Today, Flint Funeral Home continues to serve our hometown along with Corning, Woodhull, and the surrounding areas.

Flint Funeral Home is a family-owned, full-service facility providing burials, cremations, and Celebrations of Life, although traditional services remain the bedrock of our practice. We offer a range of dignified options with a personal touch to meet the needs of all families, including a price-consicous clientele. Above all, we are committed to helping families create funeral services that are as unique as the person they celebrate.

Flint’s three Owner-Funeral Directors have deep ties to Addison. In fact, one of us is raising his family within Flint’s historic and charming walls! The Flint family is proud to be part of the Addison community, and we cherish our tradition of service to the small town we call home.

Our History

Flint Funeral Home has a long and uninterrupted history of service to the Addison community. The stately Victorian house at 10 Wall street was first established by Guy Mayer in 1942. With two different owners following Guy Mayer, Leland Flint became the manager in 1972. In 1986, Leland and his wife Carolyn became the owners.

Leland served the community of Addison until his passing in 2007. He was dedicated to the greater Addison community, and always did his very best to promote the Village of Addison.

In 2010, David Carpenter purchased Flint Funeral Home from Carolyn Flint, at which time it was renamed the Carpenter-Flint Funeral Home. David retained ownership until his retirement in 2014. The funeral home is currently under the ownership of Garrett DuVall, Pete Russell, and Kelly Copp and its original name has been restored.

In Memorial
Leland Flint

By the time that Leland Flint purchased the funeral home in 1986, he knew every person who came through the door by his or her first name. He helped every family tailor a funeral service to fit their needs. Leland considered it a unique privilege to help people in their time of need.

In addition to his work as a funeral director, Leland was tireless in promoting the Village of Addison. He served as Little League president, Kiwanis president, and president of the Funeral Directors Association. He was moderator and trustee for The First Baptist Church of Addison. He was Addison's mayor for eight years, during which time Addison established a youth center, a medical center, and a community center that bears his name.
